Composition
Tab 5 mg/10 mg: Obeticholic Acid 5 mg/10 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Primary Biliary Cholangitis as monotherapy or in combination with Ursodeoxycholic when monotherapy is inadequate: Adult: 5 mg once daily for 6 months, increase to 10 mg if necessary and tolerated. See litrature.
Contraindications
Complete billary obstruction
Precautions
Pregnancy, moderate to severe hepatic impairment, peptic ulcer. Monitor LFTs and serum lipid levels.
Interactions
Warfarin, CYP1A2 Substrates, bile acid sequestrants

Side Effects
Arthralgia, fever, dizziness, fatigue, pain, palpitation, constipation, vomiting, GI upset, pruritus, peripheral oedema, eczema, pyrexia, rash. Rare: Abnormal thyroid function.
