Composition

Inj 10 mg: Per 2 ml amp: Domperidone 10 mg. Susp/Syp 5 mg: Per 5 ml: Domperidone 5 mg. Tab/Cap 10 mg: Domperidone 10 mg.

Indications & Dosage

Relief of nausea and vomiting: BY IV INJ: Adults: With chemotherapy 1-40 mg IV (usually 1mg/ kg). See literature. ORAL: Adult & Children 12yrs (body-weight 35 kg and above): 10 mg up to 3 times a day; max. 30 mg per day. Children (body-weight up to 35 kg): 250 mcg/kg up to 3 times a day; max. 750 mcgr/kg per day. Children below 12yrs: Not recommended. Epigastria, sense of fullness, upper abdominal distention, regurgitation, and Gastro-intestinal pain in palliative care: ORAL: Adult: 10 mg 3 times a day, before meals.

Contraindications

Cardiac disease, when administered concomitantly with drugs that prolong the QT interval or potent CYP3A4 inhibitors, Hepatic impairment, Prolactinoma, GI haemorrhage, mechanical perforation or obstruction.

Precautions

Children, if there are cardiac concerns, obtain ECG before and during treatment, patients over 60 years, increased risk of ventricular arrhythmia, renal impairment.

Interactions

Erythromycin, Ketoconazole, ritonavir.

Drowsiness, dry mouth, malaise Anxiety, diarrhoea, galactorrhoea, headache, pruritus, rash, Agitation, amenorrhoea, convulsions, extra pyramidal disorders, gynaecomastia, nervousness, oculogyric crisis, QT-interval prolongation, sudden cardiac death, urinary retention, ventricular arrhythmias, GI upset, raised serum prolactin
