Composition
Susp: Per 5 ml: Aluminium hydroxide 215 mg, magnesium hydroxide 80 mg, Simeticone 25 mg. Tab: Magnesium trisilicate 500 mg, dried aluminium hydroxide gel 250 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Peptic ulcer, hiatus hernia, gastritis, dyspepsia, gastric hy-peracidity and flatulence: Susp: Adults: 1 or 2 tsp. Children above 6 yrs: 1 tsp to be taken between meals and bedtime Tab: Adults: 1-2 tab chewed or sucked after meals or when required. Children: Above 6 yr, half adult dose; below 6 yr, not recommended.
Precautions
Renal impairment, patients on low phosphate diet, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach.
Interactions
May alter absorption of tetracycline, Fe salts, INH, warfarinH2-receptor antagonists, INH, quinidine.
Side Effects
Vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, intestinal obstruction
