Composition

AMINOPLASMAL E 5 %: Each 1000 ml solution contains: Isoleucine 2.5 gm, leucine 4.45 gm, lysine HCI 4.28 gm (equiv to lysine 3.43 gm), methionine 2.2 gm, phenylalanine 2.35 gm, threonine

Indications & Dosage

Prophylaxis & therapy of protein deficiency: BY IV INF: Adult: 20-30 ml/kg body wt/day for 5% INF; 10-20 ml/kg body wt/day for 10% INF; 20-50 ml/kg body wt/day for Paed INF.

Contraindications

Life-threatening unstable circulation (shock), cellular hypoxia or acidosis. Solution should not be given to newborns or infants up to completed 2nd year as nutrients do not meet the special paed requirement.

Precautions

Disorders of amino acid metabolism, electrolyte & fluid imbalances in hyperhydration, Hepatic & renal insufficiency. Need to include regular checks of fluid balance & serum electrolytes.
