Cap 40mg/80mg/125mg: Aprepitant 40mg/80mg/125mg
Indications & Dosage
Preventing nausea and vomiting associated with emetogenic chemotherapy (adjunct to dexamethasone and a 5HT3-receptor antagonist): Adult: Initially 125 mg, dose to be taken 1 hour before chemotherapy, then 80 mg once daily for 2 days, consult product literature for dose of concomitant corticosteroid and 5HT3-antagonist

Acute porphyrias
Precautions
Moderate to severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Interactions
Pimozide, immunosuppressants, ergot alkaloids, fentanyl, alfentanil, etoposide, vinorelbine, antifungals, macrolides, protease inhibitors, rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, oral anticoagulants, tolbutamide; any other substrate, inhibitor or inducer of CYP3A4 or substrate of CY92C9. lrinotecan, hormonal contraceptives, corticosteroids, benzodiazepines.
Pregnancy
Avoid unless potential benefit outweighs risk
Lactation
Avoid, discontinue breast-feeding
Side Effects
Headache, dizziness, anorexia, asthenia, constipation, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, hiccups, abdominal pain, anxiety, bradycardia, chills, colitis, confusion, conjunctivitis, dry mouth, duodenal ulcer, flushing, haematuria, hyperglycaemia, hyponatraemia, pruritus, rash, taste disturbance. Rare: Myalgia, neutropenia, oedema, palpitations, pharyngitis, polyuria, stomatitis, thirst, tinnitus, weight changes
