Composition

Cap 10 mg/20 mg/40 mg: Rabeprazole sodium 10 mg/20 mg/40 mg. Tab 10 mg/20 mg/40 mg: Rabeprazole sodium 10 mg/20 mg/40 mg. Inj 20 mg: Rabeprazole sodium 20 mg.

Indications & Dosage

Benign gastric ulcer: Adult: 20 mg daily for 8 weeks, dose to be taken in the morning Duodenal ulcer: Adult: 20 mg daily for 4 weeks, dose to be taken in the morning Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: Adult: 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks; maintenance 10-20 mg daily Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (symptomatic treatment in the absence of oesophagitis): Adult: 10 mg daily for up to 4 weeks, then 10 mg daily if required Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Adult: Initially 60 mg once daily, adjusted according to response, doses above 100mg daily given in 2 divided doses; max. 120 mg per day Helicobacter pylori eradication: Adult: 20 mg twice daily, in combination with amoxicillin or metronidazole and clarithromycin Children: Not recommended.

Precautions

Exclude gastric or oesophageal malignancy before treatment, severe hepatic impairment. Monitor patients on long term therapy.

Ketoconazole, itraconazole.

Side Effects

Cough, influenza like syndrome, rhinitis, chest pain, nervousness, Anorexia, weight gain, headache, GI upset, rash, asthenia, dry mouth.
