Composition
Cap/Tab: Dihydroartemisinin 40 mg, piperaquine phosphate 320 mg. Sachet: Per sachet: Dihydroartemisinin 15 mg, piperaquine phosphate 120 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis and treatment of malaria: Adults and Children above 6 months: 7-13 kg: Half tab, 13-24 kg: 1 tab, 24-36 kg: 2 tab, 36-75 kg: 3 tab, 75-100 kg: 4 tab, dose to be given once daily, 3 hrs before or 3 hrs after food, for 3 days. Max 2 courses in 12 months separated by at least 2 months.
Contraindications
History of arrhythmias, of clinical relevant bradycardia, and of congestive heart failure accompanied by reduced ventricular ejection fraction; family history of sudden death or of congenital QT interval prolongation.
Precautions
Impaired renal or hepatic functions, cardiac disease, electrolyte disturbances, concomitant use with other drugs known to cause QT-interval prolongation, monitor patients unable to take food (greater risk of recrudes-cence).
Interactions
Inhibitors of CYP3A4, substrates of CYP2D6, grapefruit juice, class la and Ill antiarrhythmics, drugs prolonging QT interval, fluoroquinolones, azole antifungals, cisapride.

Abdominal pain, nausea, anorexia, diarrhoea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, asthenia, muscle weakness and pain, sleep disturbances, nausea, palpitation, prolonged QT interval, cough, paresthesia, arthralgia, myalgia, pruritus, rash.
