DICLOFENAC SODIUM AND LIGNOCAINE · by GLOBAL
Composition
Inj IM: Per 2 ml amp: Diclofenac sodium 75 mg, lignocaine HCI 20 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Acute back pain, post- operative pain, pain in acute trauma and fractures, renal colic: BY IM INJ: Adults: 75 mg once or twice daily by deep intragluteal inj for max 2 days. Continue if necessary with tab. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Active peptic ulcer, aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy, proctitis.
Precautions
Monitor patients on long-term treatment, history of GIlesions, renal, hepatic or cardiac insufficiency, hepatic porphyria, haematological abnormalities, elderly
Interactions
Salicylates, methotrexate, lithium, digoxin, diuretics, cyclosporin, anticoagulants, oral hypoglycaemics, quinolones, NSAIDs, steroids.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated in pregnancy
Lactation
Contraindicated or not recommended
Side Effects
GI ulceration, transient epigastric pain, GI disturbances, headache, oedema, skin reactions, pain at injection site. Rarely blood dyshaematopoiesis, peptic ulcer, abnormalities of liver and kidney function.
