Indications & Dosage
Active immunization against hepatitis A: BY IM INJ: Adults: Primary immunization: 160 antigen units in the deltoid region. Booster: 160 antigen units 6-12 months following initial dose. Children: 12 months-18 yrs: Primary immunization: 80 antigen units in the deltoid region. Booster: 80 antigen units 6-12 months following initial dose.
Contraindications
Severely immunosuppressed patients should not be given live vaccines (including those with severe primary immunodeficiency), Severe febrile infections
Precautions
Acute or chronic diseases.
Side Effects
Fatigue, fever, GI disturbances, headache, irritability, loss of appetite, lymphangitis, malaise, myalgia, arthralgia, asthenia, dizziness, drowsiness, influenza-like symptoms, lymphadenopathy, paraesthesia, rash. Rare: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm, hypersensitivity reactions, urticaria
