Composition

Tab: Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone 40 mg/12.5 mg, Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone 40 mg/25 mg,

Indications & Dosage

Hypertension, not adequately controlled with monotherapy or high risk of cardiovascular events: Adult: Initially 40/12.5 mg taken orally once daily, dosage may be increased to 40/25 mg after 2 to 4 weeks if needed.

Contraindications

Patients with anuria, coadministeration wth aliskiren-containing products in patients with Diabetes.

Precautions

Heart failure, Severe renal impairment, hepatic impairment. Correct any volume depletion prior to administration the drug, particularly in patients with impaired renal function or those treated with high doses of diuretics. Patients who experience dose-limiting adverse reactions on chlorthalidone may initially be administrated with a lower dose of chlorthalidone.

Interactions

Lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents including selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors (cox-2 inhibitors), dual blockade of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS).

Side Effects

Headache, Abdominal pain, Fetal Toxicity, Hypokalemia, Hyperuricemia, Hypotension in Volume- or Salt-Depleted Patients, Diarrhea, Nausea, Elevations of Uric Acid and Cholesterol.
