Composition

Tab 20 mcg: Beraprost 20 mcg.

Indications & Dosage

Improvement of ulcers, pain and feeling of coldness associated with chronic arterial occlusion: Adults: 40 mcg three times daily. Primary Pulmonary hypertension: Adults: 1 mcg/kg/day up to 20 mcg three times daily. Gradually increase dose if needed up to max 180 mcg in three or four divided doses. Reduce dose to 0.5mcg/kg/day or 20-40 mcg daily in 2-3 divided doses if adverse reaction occur, or discontinue if needed. Children: Not recommended.

Contraindications

Patients with haemorrhage.

Precautions

It may enhance bleeding tendency, patients on anticoagulants, antiplatelet, or fibrinolytic agents, menstruating women, liver and renal impairment.

Interactions

Anticoagulants, antiplatelet or fibrinolytic agents or any product that intensifies bleeding tendency.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Lactation

Caution advised, not recommended.

Side Effects

Dizziness, headache, flushing, nausea, diarrhea, increased liver enzyme, bilirubin, and triglyceride concentrations, enhanced bleeding tendency
