Composition
F-Syp: Per 5 ml: Iron-Ill-hydroxide polymaltose complex equiv to elemental iron 50 mg with folic acid 0.35 mg F-Tab/Plus Tab: Iron-III-hydroxide polymaltosecomplex equiv to elemental iron 100 mg
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis & treatment of iron deficiency anaemia, macrocytic anaemia: TAB: Adults: 2-3 tab daily. SYP: Adult: 20-30 ml daily Children: Infants up to 1yr: 2.5-5 ml. daily; 1-12 yr: 5-10 ml daily; above 12 yr: same as adult.
Contraindications
Hemochromatosis, haemolytic anaemia, hemoglobinopathy, inflammatory bowel disease, blood transfusion, haemosiderosis, sidero-achrestic anaemia, thalassemia, hypersensitivity and intolerance.
Side Effects
Dizziness, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, epigastric & GI discomfort, sweating, heartburn, black colour stool. Rare: Convulsion, hepatic failure, anaphylactoid reactions, circulatory collapse (discontinue)
