Composition
Tab 2.5mg/5mg/10mg: Minoxidil 2.5mg/5mg/10mg
Indications & Dosage
Severe hypertension, in addition to a diuretic and a beta- blocker: Adult: Initially 5 mg daily in 1–2 divided doses, then increased in steps of 5–10 mg, increased at intervals of at least 3 days; max. 100 mg per day. Elderly: Initially 2.5 mg daily in 1–2 divided doses, then increased in steps of 5–10 mg, increased at intervals of at least 3 days; max. 100 mg per day.
Contraindications
Phaeochromocytoma
Precautions
Acute porphyrias, after myocardial infarction (until stabilised), angina, renal impairment

Side Effects
GI disorder, fluid retention, oedema, sodium retention, hair changes, pericardial disorders, pericarditis, tachycardia, breast tenderness, pleural effusion, weight increased. Rare: Leucopenia, skin reactions, Stevens- Johnson syndrome, thrombocytopenia, Angina pectoris
