Composition

Tab: Colloidal Bismuth Subcitrate 120 mg

Indications & Dosage

Monotherapy for Benign gastric and duodenal ulceration: Adult: 2 tab twice daily 30 min before main meals, alternatively 1 tab 4 times a day as 3 doses 30 min before meals and 4th dose after 2 hours of last meal of the day, for 28 days followed by a further 28 days if necessary, course may be repeated after interval of 1 month. In combination with PPI or H2-Antagonist for eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection as a part of regime: Adult: 1 tab 4 times a day for 2 wks Children: Not recommended.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, renal impairment

Precautions

Prolonged use. Antacids, fruit, or fruit juice should not be taken half an hour before or after a dose. Milk should not be taken during treatment.

Interactions

Anti-bacterial: reduced absorption of tetracycline

Side Effects

Blackening of stool, may darken tongue and face, nausea and vomiting, Constipation, diarrhoea, pruritus, rash
