Composition
V Syp: Per 5 ml: Pizotifen (as hydrogen maleate) 0.25 mg, thiamine HCI 0.475 mg, riboflavin phosphate 1.31 mg, pyridoxine HCI 0.77 mg, nicotinamide 5.25 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Anorexia, mood elevation in the elderly, prophylactic treatment of migraine: Children: 2-6 yr, 5-10 ml of daily; 6-12 yr, 10-20 ml daily in 2 or 3 divided doses, maintenance doses, 5 ml/kg body-wt daily. Adults: Starting with 10 ml per day, may be increased to 10 ml 3 times a day.
Precautions
Patients with narrow angle glaucoma or urinary retention (dueto slight anticholinergic effect of pizotifen), pregnancy and lactation.
Interactions
Sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, alcohol.
Side Effects
Sedation, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation.
