Composition
Drop: Per 5 ml: Dicyclomine HCI 5 mg, simeticone 50 mg. Susp: Per 5 ml: Dicyclomine HCI 5 mg, simeticone 50 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Symptomatic relief of gastro-intestinal disorders characterized by smooth muscle spasm, flatulence, abdominal discomfort and infant colic (Wind): Adults: 10 ml three to four times daily. Children: 6 months-4 yrs: 5 ml before each feed, max four doses in 24 hr; 4-12 yrs: 5 to 10 ml four times daily.
Contraindications
Infants under 6 months.
Precautions
Patients with actual or suspected glaucoma or prostatic hypertrophy may exacerbate acid reflux in hiatus hernia, mental disturbance, mental depression, asthma, heart and kidney disease, infants and children.
Interactions
Amantadine, atenolol, digoxin, pherthiazines, tricyclic antidepressants.
Side Effects
Weakness, drowsiness, nausea, thirst dry mouth, urinary retention, dizziness, exacerbation of glaucoma, CNS effects, photophobia, and xerostomia.
