Composition
Tab2 mg/4 mg/8 mg (as terbutylamine): Perindopril 2 mg/4 mg/8 mg (as terbutylamine). Tab5 mg/10 mg (as arginine):Perindopril 5 mg/10 mg (as arginine).
Indications & Dosage
Hypertension: Adult: Initially 5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 1 month, dose to be taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 10 mg per day. Alternatively; Initially 4 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine) once daily for 1 month, dose to be taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 8 mg per day. Elderly: Initially 2.5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 1 month, dose to be taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 10 mg per day. Alternatively; initially 2 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine)once daily for 1 month, dose to be taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 8 mg per day. Hypertension, if used in addition to diuretic, or in cardiac decompensation or volume depletion: Adult: Initially 2.5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 1 month, dose tobe taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 10 mg per day. Alternatively; initially 2 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine)once daily for 1 month, dose to be taken in the morning, then, adjusted according to response; max. 8 mg per day. Symptomatic heart failure (adjunct): Adult: Initially 2.5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 2 weeks, then increased if tolerated to 5 mg once daily, dose to be taken in the morning. Alternatively; Initially 2 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine) once daily for at least 2 weeks, dose to be taken in the morning, then increased if tolerated to 4 mg once daily. Prophylaxis of cardiac events following myocardial infarction or revascularisation in stable coronary artery disease: Adult: Initially 5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 2 weeks, then increased if tolerated to 10 mg once daily, dose to be taken in the morning. Alternatively; initially 4 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine)once daily for 2 weeks, dose to be taken in the morning, then increased if tolerated to 8 mg once daily. Elderly: Initially 2.5 mg Perindopril (as arginine) once daily for 1 week, then increased if tolerated to 5 mg once daily for 1 week, then increased if tolerated to 10 mg once daily, dose to be taken in the morning. Alternatively; initially 2 mg Perindopril (as terbutylamine)once daily for 1 week, then increased if tolerated to 4 mg once daily for 1 week, then increased if tolerated to 8 mg once daily. Children: Not recommended.
Precautions
Renal impairment, hepatic impairment; close monitoring is required, surgery/anaesthesia.
Interactions
K+ sparing diuretics or K+ supplements, lithium, antidepressants.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Lactation
Not recommended.
Side Effects
Asthenia, mood disturbance, sleep disturbance, flushing, angioneurotic oedema, taste disturbance, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, low haemoglobin, red cells and platelets counts, reversible increase in blood urea and creatinine, proteinuria, skin rashes
