Composition
Cap/Tab: Cycloserine 250 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Tuberculosis resistant to first-line drugs, in combinationwith other drugs: Adult: Initially 250 mg every 12 hours for 2 weeks, then increased if necessary up to 500 mg every 12 hours, increased according to blood concentration and response, for 18-24 months (max daily dose 1 gm). Children: 10-20 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses up to 1000 mg/day for 18-24 months.
Contraindications
Acute porphyria, alcohol dependence, depression, epilepsy, psychotic states, severe anxiety
Precautions
Renal insufficiency, hepatic impairment
Interactions
: INH, ethionamide, phenytoin, alcohol.
Pregnancy
Caution advised, use only if potential benefit outweighs risk

Side Effects
Allergic dermatitis, changes in liver function tests, confusion, convulsions, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, heart failure at high doses, megaloblastic anaemia, psychosis, rashes, tremor, vertigo cardiac arrhythmias, paresis, coma.
