Composition
Inj25 mg/50 mg/100 mg: Per 1 ml amp: Nandrolone decanoate 25 mg/50 mg/100 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Adjunct therapy in chronic debilitating diseases, glucocorticoid therapy, radiotherapy, major surgery and trauma: Adults: 25-50 mg every 3 wk. Anaemia of chronic renal failure: MALE: 200 mg every wk; FEMALE: 100 mg every wk. Aplastic anaemia: MALE & FEMALE:50-150 mg every wk Anaemia due to cytotoxic therapy: MALE & FEMALE:200 mg every wk This treatment should be continued throughout the cytotoxic therapy and recovery period until the blood count returns to normal.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, prostatic carcinoma or mammary carcinoma in males, development of signs of virilization.
Precautions
Anabolic steroids may occasionally induce salt and fluid retention.To be administered by deep IM injection.
Interactions
Anticoagulants, liver enzyme inducers, Heparin.
Side Effects
Over dose or prolong treatment may cause amenorrhoea and inhibition of spermatogenesis, premature epiphyseal closure, water and salt retention, virilization in sensitive women.
