Composition
Long Acting Inj 3.75 mg/Short Acting Inj 0.1 mg: Triptorelin 3.75 mg/0.1 mg; powder for reconstitution.
Indications & Dosage
Endometriosis: BY IM INJ: Adult (female): Start during first 5 days of cycle. 3.75 mg every 28 days for max 6 months. Treatment of uterine fibroids prior to surgery is inappropriate: BY IM INJ: Adult (female): Start during first 5 days of cycle 3.75 mg every 28 days for minimum 3 months. Consider uterine leiomyosarcoma if no change or an increase in uterine volume. Advanced prostatic cancer: BY IM INJ: Adult (male): 3.75 mg every 28 days. See literature. Gonadotrophin-dependent precocious puberty: BY IM INJ: DECAPEPTYL: 11.25 mg every 3 months. BY SC OR IM INJ: GONAPEPTYL: Body-weight under 20 kg: Initially 1.875 mg on days 0,14, and 28, then 1.875 mg every 4 weeks; Body-weight 20-30 kg: Initially 2.5 mg on days 0, 14, and 28, then 2.5 mg every 4 week; Body-weight over 30 kg: Ini-tially 3.75 mg on days 0, 14, and 28, then 3.75 mg every 4 week; discontinue when bone maturation consistent with age above12 yr in girls and above 13 yr in boys, may be given every 3 week if necessary.
Administration
Must be administered under the supervision of a physician, IM Injection into the buttock; alternate injection sites. Reconstitute with 2 ml SWFI. Shake well to obtain a uniform suspension. Withdraw the entire contents into the syringe and inject immediately.
Stability
Store between 20C-25C (68F-77F). Do not freeze.
Contraindications
In endometriosis do not use for longer than 6 months (do not repeat), undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, Spinal cord compression, spinal metasta-ses,
Precautions
Risk of initial flares in symptoms, Patients with metabolic bone disease (decrease in bone mineral density can occur). Risk factors for osteoporosis, risk of spinal cord compression in men, risk of ureteric obstruction in men, monitor patients for first month of treatment. Increased risk of sensitivity to restored testosterone if treatment interrupted; consider administration of an antiandrogen before stopping treatment, transient increase in serum testosterone occurs on initiation; consider administration of an antiandrogen.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated in pregnancy.
Lactation

Side Effects
Anaphylaxis, arthralgia, asthenia, asthma, breast tenderness (males and females), changes in blood pressure, changes in breast size, changes in scalp and body hair, depression GI disturbances, headache, hot flushes, hypersensitivity reactions, increased sweating, local reactions at injection site, mood changes, ovarian cysts (consider withdrawal), paraesthesia, pruritus, rash, urticaria, visual disturbances, weight changes
