Composition
Tab 4 mg/5 mg/10 mg: Montelukast (as sodium) 4 mg/5img (chewable)/10 mg. Powd 10 mg/4 mg: Per Sachet: Montelukast (as sodium) 4 mg/10 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis of asthma: Adult & Children above 15 yrs: 10 mg once daily in the evening. Children 6 months-5 yrs: 4 mg once daily in the evening; 6-14 yrs: 5 mg once daily inthe evening. Symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis in patients with asthma: Adult & Children above 15 yrs: 10 mg once daily in the evening.
Precautions
Do not substitute abruptly for inhaled or oral steroid therapy, not for use for relief of acute symptoms. Discontinue if symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome appear. Phenyl ketonuria with chewable tablet (contain aspartame).
Interactions
Phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampicin.

Side Effects
Abdominal pain, aggressive behavior, agitation, anxiety, headache, hyperkinesia, thirst, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, epistaxis, irritability, malaise, muscle cramps, hyperactivity, restlessness, sleep disturbances, palpitation, tremor. Rare: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, seizure, elevated ALT/AST, Churg-Strauss syndrome (Discontinue)
