Composition
Tab 50 mg: Eperisone hydrochloride 50 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Symptomatic treatment of condition like Muscular spasm, spasticity: Adults: 1 tab three times daily. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Myasthenia gravis (but may be used to decrease muscarinic side-effects of anticholinesterases), paralytic ileus, pyloric stenosis, toxic megacolon, and prostatic enlargement.
Precautions
Hypersensitivity to the drug, kidney dysfunction, Downs syndrome, elderly, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, diarrhoea, ulcerative colitis, autonomic neuropathy, acute myocardial infarction, hypertension, conditions characterized by tachycardia.
Interactions
Amantadine, digoxin, phenothiazines atenolol, tricyclic antidepressants.
Pregnancy
Contraindicated and not recommended.
Lactation
Contraindicated and not recommended.
Side Effects
Constipation, transient bradycardia (followed by tachycardia, palpitation and arrhythmias), reduced bronchial secretions, urinary dysfunction, renal dysfunction and retention, pruritis, dry mouth, photo-phobia, flushing and dryness of the skin, confusion (particu-larly. in the elderly), nausea, vomiting, and giddiness, angle-closure glaucoma may occur.
