Composition
Cap 150 mg/300 mg: Erdosteine 150 mg/300 mg. Susp 175 mg: When reconstituted per 5 ml: Erdosteine 175 mg. Sachet: Per sachet: Erdosteine 225 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Acute & chronic respiratory disease: Adult: 300 mg twice daily for 3-4 weeks. Children6 months to 3 yrs: 87 mg twice daily for 1-2 weeks; 4-8 yrs: 175 mg twice daily for-1-2 weeks; 8-12 yr: 150 mg twice daily for 2-3 weeks. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Adult: 300 mg twice daily or 225 mg 2-3 times daily for 3-6 months. To preserve lung structure in smokers: Adult: 300 mg twice daily for 2-3 months. To preserve lung structure in Tuberculosis: Adult: 150 mg twice daily; maintenance therapy: 150 mg twice daily for 3-4 weeks.
Contraindications
Severe renal or hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Gastroduodenal ulcer.
Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.
