Composition
Syp: Per 5 ml: Ferrous gluconate 300 mg equiv to 34 mg elemental iron.
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis & treatment of iron deficiency anaemia: Adults: Prophylaxis: 10 ml daily before food. Treatment: 20-30 ml daily in divided doses before food. Children: Prophylaxis and Treatment: 6 12 yr: 5 ml - 15 ml daily.
Contraindications
Diverticular disease, intestinal obstruction, haemochromatosis, haemosiderosis, repeated blood transfusion.
Precautions
Inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal strictures, diverticular.
Interactions
Tetracyclines.
