Composition
DPI Cap 100/50: Per actuation: Fluticasone Propionate 100 mcg, Salmeterol 50 mcg, DPI Cap 250/50: Per actuation: Fluticasone Propionate 250 mcg, Salmeterol 50 mcg, DPI Cap 500/50: Per actuation: Fluticasone Propionate 500 mcg, Salmeterol 50 mcg.
Indications & Dosage
Treatment of asthma, treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: Adults: 1 inhalations twice daily at lowest effective inhaled corticosteroid dose.
Precautions
Severe cardiovascular disorders, pulmonary tuberculosis, diabetes, hypokalaemia, thyrotoxicosis, pregnancy, lactation. Prolonged treatment with high doses increases risk of adrenal suppression and systemic effects; monitor adrenal function. Monitor height of children on prolonged therapy. Consider additional steroid therapy during stress or surgery. Withdraw gradually.
Interactions
Beta-blockers.
Side Effects
Headache, anxiety, depression, dryness, epistaxis, hyperactivity, hypersensitivity reactions, nasal irritation, nasal ulceration, sleep disturbances, smell disturbances, taste disturbances, oropharyngeal irritation. Rare: Paradoxical bronchospasm; discontinue immediately.
