Composition
Cream/Oint: Per gm: Fusidic acid 20 mg, hydrocortisone acetate 10 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Severe inflammatory skin disorders such as eczemas, Psoriasis, Inflammatory dermatoses with bacterial infection: Adults & Children: Apply two to three times daily or less frequently if dressing is used.
Contraindications
Acne, perioral dermatitis, potent corticosteroids in widespread plaque psoriasis, rosacea, untreated viral skin lesions
Precautions
Avoid prolonged use, keep away from eyes, under specialist supervision in psoriasis (can result in rebound relapse, development of generalized pustular psoriasis, and local and systemic toxicity). Do not use steroid as sole therapy in psoriasis. Do not use steroids to treat diaper dermatoses in infants. If local irritation develops discontinue use.
Side Effects
Burning, itching, irritation, erythema, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, pruritus, acneiform eruptions, hypo-pigmentation, peri-oral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, thinning of the skin (the original structure may never return), worsening of acne and rosacea, skin atrophy, striae, malaria, telangiectasia. Rare: Adrenal suppression, Cushings syndrome
