Composition

Inj: Human normal immunoglobulin 160 mg, Globulin conservans 0.01% thiomersal per vaccine.

Indications & Dosage

To control outbreaks of hepatitis A: BY DEEP IM INJ: Adult: 500-750 mg Rubella in pregnancy, prevention of clinical attack: Females of childbearing potential: 750 mg. Antibody deficiency syndromes: BY SC INF: Adult: (consult product literature)

Contraindications

Patients with selective IgA deficiency who have known antibody against IgA

Precautions

Agammaglobulinaemia with or without IgA deficiency, hypogammaglobulinaemia with or without IgA deficiency, interference with live virus vaccines; normal immunoglobulin may interfere with the immune response to live virus vaccines which should therefore only be given at least 3 weeks before or 3 months after an injection of normal immunoglobulin (except yellow fever vaccine since normal immunoglobulin does not contain antibody to this virus)

Side Effects

Arthralgia, chills, diarrhoea, dizziness, fever, headache, low back pain, muscle spasms, myalgia, nausea. Rare: Acute renal failure, anaphylaxis, aseptic meningitis, cutaneous skin reactions, hypotension
