Indications & Dosage
Active immunization against hepatitis A: BY IM INJ: Adults & above 16 yr: Primary immunization: 1 ml (1440 ELISA units) into deltoid muscle; Booster: 1 ml (1440 ELISA units) 6-12 monthafter primary dose. It is unnecessary to repeat the primary vaccination schedule if a booster is given within 5 yr of primary vaccination. Children 1-15yr: Primary immunization: 0.5 ml (720 ELISA units), into deltoid muscle. Booster: 0.5 ml(720 ELISA units) 6-12 monthafter primary dose.
Contraindications
Severe febrile infections.
Precautions
Pregnancy, lactation. Infection, haemo dialysis, altered immunity.
Side Effects
Fever, malaise, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, mild transient soreness, erythema and irritation at injection site.
