Composition
Tab: Ferrous fumarate 150 mg, folic acid 0.5 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Prophylaxis & treatment of iron & folic acid deficiency in pregnancy: Adults: 1 tab daily before meals. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Peptic ulcer, regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, vit B 12 deficiency, paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria, haemosiderosis, haemochromatosis, repeated blood transfusion.
Precautions
1st trimester, History of peptic ulcer, folate dependent tumours.
Interactions
Tetracyclines, antacids, co-trimoxazole, anticonvulsants, penicillamine, chloramphenicol, sulphasalazine, cholestyrarnine.
Side Effects
GI upset, allergic reactions.
