Composition
Eye Drop 0.12%/2.5%/10%: Phenylephrine HCI 0.12%/2.5%/10%.
Indications & Dosage
Mydriasis: Adult & Children: Apply 1 drop 30-60 min before procedure, then apply 1 drop after 60 minutes if required, a drop of topical anaesthetic may be applied to the eye a few minutes before using phenylephrine to prevent stinging. Vasoconstriction, Pupil dilation: Adults: 1 drop as required. Uveitis: Adults: 1 drop as required, may be continued the following day. Ophthalmic irritation: Adults: 1-2 drops of 0.12% into affected eye (s), upto four times per day.
Contraindications
10% strength eye drops in children and the elderly, aneurysms, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, thyrotoxicosis, hyperthyroidism, diabetes.
Precautions
Asthma, cerebral arteriosclerosis, corneal epithelial damage, darkly pigmented iris, diabetes, mydriasis can precipitate acuteangle-closure glaucoma in a few patients, ocular hyperaemia, susceptibility to angle-closure glaucoma

Side Effects
Arrhythmias, blurred vision, conjunctivitis, coronary artery spasm, extrasystoles, hyperaemia, hypertension, local irritation, myocardial infarction (after use of 10% strength in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease), oedema, palpitation, photophobia, raised intraocular pressure, tachycardia, transient stinging
