Composition
Inj 100 mg: Anakinra PFS 100 mg
Indications & Dosage
Rheumatoid arthritis (in combination with methotrexate) which has not responded to methotrexate alone (specialist use only): BY SC INJ: Adult: 100 mg once daily. Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes (specialist use only): BY SC INJ: Adult: 1-2 mg/kg daily, for severe cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes, usual maintenance is 3-4 mg/kg daily, up to a max. of 8 mg/kg daily. Stills disease (specialist use only): BY SC INJ: Adult (body-weight up to 49 kg): 1-2 mg/kg daily. Adult (body-weight 50 kg and above): 100 mg daily.
Administration
Administer via Subcutaneous route on abdomen or thighs area with easy-to-use pre-filled syringe.
Stability
Store in a refrigerator (2-8C) do not freeze, protect from light.
Contraindications
Active infection, neutropenia (absolute neutrophil count less than 1.5 6 109 /litre) do not initiate, pre-existing malignancy
Precautions
Renal impairment, elderly, history of asthma (increased risk of serious infection). history of recurrent infection, predisposition to infection. Neutrophil counts must be assessed before and during treatment at regular interval,
Interactions
Live vaccines (avoid), TNF blocking agents.
Pregnancy
Use only if potential benefit outweighs risk

Side Effects
Headache, infection, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, skin reactions, hepatitis, Neutropenia (discontinue).
