Composition
Tab 600 mg: Lefamulin 600 mg
Indications & Dosage
Community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP): Adult: 600 mg every 12 hours, at least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal, for 5 days.
Contraindications
Moderate or severe hepatic impairment, prolongation of the QT interval, ventricular arrhythmias.
Precautions
Patients with mild hepatic impairment, patients receiving Class IA or Class III antiarrhythmic agents, patients receiving other drugs that prolong the QT interval, such as antipsychotics, tricyclic antidepressants and drugs for seizure disorders. ECG monitoring is recommended during treatment. In patients with renal failure who require dialysis, metabolic disturbances associated with renal failure may lead to QT prolongation.
Interactions
Strong and moderate CYP3A inducers or P-GP inducers, CYP3A inhibitors or P-GP inhibitors, CYP3A4 substrates.
