Composition

Susp: Per 5 ml: Aluminium hydroxide dried gel 200 mg, magnesium hydroxide 200 mg.

Indications & Dosage

Peptic ulcer, belching, hiatus hernia, gastritis, dyspepsia, gastric hyperacidity and flatulence and heartburn: Adults: 1 or 2 tsp; Children above 6 yrs: 1 tsp. To be taken one and three hr after meals and at bedtime.

Precautions

Renal dysfunction, patients on low phosphate diet, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach, prolong use.

Interactions

Tetracycline, warfarin, INH, Fe salts, digoxin.

Side Effects

Diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting nausea, intestinal obstruction
