Composition
Tab: Magnesium trisilicate 500 mg, aluminium hydroxide dried gel 250 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Peptic ulcer, belching, hiatus hernia, gastritis, dyspepsia, gastric hyperacidity and flatulence and heartburn: Adults: 1-2 tab chewed or sucked after meals or when required. Children: Above 6 yr, half adult dose
Precautions
Renal dysfunction, patients on low phosphate diet, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach, prolong use.
Interactions
Tetracycline, warfarin, INH, Fe salts, digoxin, H2 receptor antagonists, chlorpromazine, and urine-alkalization may increase plasma quinidine.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, intestinal obstruction (large dose).
