Composition
Tab 1 mg/5 mg: Finasteride 1 mg/5 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): Adult: 5 mg tab once daily, review treatment at 3-6 months and then every 6-12 months (may require several months treatment before benefit is obtained). Androgenetic alopecia in men: Adult: 1 mg tab once daily, review treatment at 3-6 months Children: Not recommended.
Precautions
Obstructive uropathy. Exclude prostate cancer; perform evaluation prior to and during therapy. Finasteride lowers the mean value of serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
Side Effects
Breast enlargement, breast tenderness, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, face swelling, hypersensitivity reactions, impotence, lip swelling, male breast cancer, pruritus, rash, testicular pain
