Composition
DS Tab: Diloxanide furoate 500 mg, metronidazole 400 mg. Susp: Per 10 ml: Diloxanide furoate 250 mg, metronidazole benzoate 320 mg equiv to metronidazole 200 mg. Tab: Diloxanide furoate 250 mg, metronidazole benzoate 320 mg equiv to metronidazole 200 mg
Indications & Dosage
Amoebiasis, and other systemic disease due to other E. histolytica, giardiasis: Adults: 2 tab or 1 DS tab or 10-20 ml thrice daily for 5 days. Children: 5-12 yrs: Half to one tab or 5-10 ml thrice daily for 5 days; 1-5 yrs: 5 ml thrice for 5 days. In refractory cases the treatment in adults and children can be continued for 10 days.
Precautions
CNS disorders, hepatic encephalopathy
Interactions
Phenobarbitone, anticoagulants, lithium, alcohol.

Flatulence, pruritus, GI distress, urticaria, vomiting
