Composition

Cream/Oint/Lotion: MometasoneFuroate 0.1%,

Indications & Dosage

Severe inflammatory skin disorders such as eczemas, Psoriasis, Inflammatory dermatoses: Adult& Children: Apply once daily, to be applied thinly (to scalp incase of lotion)for max four week.

Contraindications

Acne, perioral dermatitis, widespread plaque psoriasis, rosacea, bacterial, fungal or viral skin lesions such as impetigo, paronychia, erysipelas, cellulitis, angular cheilitis, erythrasma, treatment of rosacea, peri-oral dermatitis or acne, use on face, groin or axilla, tubercular skin lesions, herpes simplex or zoster,

Precautions

Avoid prolonged use, keep away from eyes, under specialist supervision in psoriasis (can result in rebound relapse, development of generalized pustular psoriasis, and local and systemic toxicity) Do not use steroid as sole therapy in psoriasis. Do not use steroids to treat diaper dermatoses in infants. If local irritation develops discontinue use.

Side Effects

Burning, itching, irritation, erythema, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, pruritus, acneiform eruptions, hypo-pigmentation, peri-oral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, thinning of the skin (the original structure may never return),worsening of acne and rosacea, skin atrophy, striae, malaria, telangiectasia. Rare: Adrenal suppression, Cushings syndrome
