Composition
Tab1.25 mg/2.5 mg: Indapamide hemihydrate 1.25 mg/2.5 mg. SR Tab1.5 mg: Indapamide hemihydrate 1.5 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Essential hypertension: Adult: Immediate-release Tab: 2.5 mg daily in the morning; Modified-release Tab: 1.5 mg daily, preferably in the morning. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sulphonamides, severe renal or hepatic impairment, hepatic encephalopathy, hypokalaemia.
Precautions
Gout, acute porphyrias
Interactions
Lithium, non-arrhythmic drugs causing wave-burst arrhythmia (astemizole, bepridil, IV erythromycin, sulfopride).
Pregnancy
Use only when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem.
Lactation
Not recommended.
Side Effects
Hypokalaemia, nausea, headache, fatigue, diuresis (with doses above 2.5mg daily), palpitation
