Indications & Dosage
Source of carbohydrate, diluent for IV INF: Dosage as per requirement
Contraindications
Glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
Precautions
Dextrose tolerance may be impaired in patients with renal failure and in the early post-traumatic state or in those with severe sepsis. Dextrose infusions, even if isoosmotic, should not be mixed with whole blood; haemolysisand clumping has occurred.
