Composition
Inf 20%/25%: 20%/25% soln. of albumin (human in an aqueous diluent buffered with sodium carbonate).
Indications & Dosage
Hypoproteinaemia with or without oedema, Prevention & therapy of cerebral oedema: BY IV INF: 50-75 gm IV infusion Burn therapy: BY IV INF: Initially 1 ml/lb body-weight followed by 5% soln of albumin. Emergency treatment of shock: BY IV INF: Initially 1 ml/lb body-weight followed in 15 or 30 min by 0.5 ml/lb.
Contraindications
Cardiac failure or severe anaemia.
