Composition

Infusion 6%: Hydroxy ethyl starch (HES 2000/0.5) 6%, sodium chloride 9 gm/litre.

Indications & Dosage

Therapy & prophylaxis of hypovolaemia and shock in connection with surgery, trauma, infections, burns, Therapeutic dilution of blood: Consult product literature for dosage and administration

Contraindications

Severe congestive heart failure, renal failure with oliguria and ami-de, allergies to starch, hyperhydration states, patients with severe coagulation disturbances severe haemorrhagic defects, early pregnancy. In the event of a fibrinogen deficiency the preparation should be administered only in potentially fatal emergencies, until blood is on hand for substitution.

Side Effects

Anaphylactoid reactions, dorsalgia, nausea, rise in heart rate and fall in systolic blood pressure influence the Coagulation mechanism, bleeding time, concentration of serum amylase may be increased during infusion (interference with diagnostics of pancreatitis).
