Composition
Inj: Purified mixture of polysaccharides from 23 pneumococcal types, 25 mcg in 0.5 ml; pre-filled syringe.
Indications & Dosage
Active immunization against pneumococcal disease: BY SC OR IM: Adults & Children above 2 yr: a single dose of 0.5 ml.
Contraindications
Less than 10 days prior to or during immunosuppressive therapy, patients with Hodgkins disease who have received extensive chemotherapy and/or nodal irradiation, pregnancy, lactation.
Precautions
Severely compromised cardiac and pulmonary function, febrile respiratory illness or active infection, re-vaccination. See literature.
Side Effects
Fever, local reaction, relapse of patients with stabilized idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
