Composition
: Forte Gel: Per 5 ml: Simethicone 125 mg, magnesium hydroxide 100 mg, aluminium hydroxide gel 4.75 ml.
Indications & Dosage
Hyperacidity, distension, flatulence, heartburn, dyspepsia, hiatus hernia, peptic ulcer: Adults: 1-2 tsp between meals and at bed time. Children: 5-12 yr, half adult dose. Above 12 yr: same as adult dose.
Precautions
Renal impairment, patients on low phosphate diet, hepatic impairment. Antacids may damage enteric coatings designed to prevent dissolution in the stomach.
Interactions
May alter absorption of tetracyclines, Fe salts, H2-receptor antagonists, INH, warfarin, quinidine.
Side Effects
Vomiting, nausea, Diarrhoea, constipation, intestinal obstruction (large dose).
