Composition
Inj: Protirelin tartrate 0.732 mg equiv to protirelin0.5 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Neurological deficits in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinsonism and ataxia of spinocerebellar degeneration: BY IV INF: Adults: 200-500 mcg at 2 to 19 mcg per min. Assessment of thyroid function and thyroid stimulating hormone reserve: BY IV INJ: Adults: 200 mcg. Children: 1 mcg/ kg.
Precautions
hepatic and renal impairment, severe hypopituitarism, myocardial ischaemia, obstructive airway disease.
Interactions
Dopamine, bromocriptine, chlorpromazine, thioridazine, aspirin, glucocorticosteroid, theophylline, lithium, ranitidine, oestrogens.
Pregnancy
Positive evidence of risk: Use only when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem.

Side Effects
Transient increase in pulse rate and blood pressure, desire to micturate after infusion, flushing, dizziness, nausea, strange taste, rarely bronchosp-asm.
