Composition

Indications & Dosage
Pain and mild inflammation in rheumatic disease, Pain in musculoskeletal disorders, Pain after orthopaedic surgery, Dysmenorrhoea, Acute gout, Knee or hand osteoarthritis (adjunct): ORAL: Adults: 200 mg daily either divided in two doses or as a single dose. Children: Not recommended. BY DEEP IM INJ: Adults: 50-100 mg every 4 hr. Max: 200 mg daily for 3 days. Children: Not recommended. ADHESIVE PATCH: Adults: One patch applied 12 hourly at the site of pain. Children: Not recommended.
Contraindications
Severe renal dysfunction, active peptic ulcer or history of recurrent peptic ulceration, asthma, aspi-rin/anti- inflammatory induced allergy, active GI bleeding, history of GI bleeding, history of GI perforation, severe heart failure
Precautions
: Allergic disorders, cardiac impairment, cerebrovascular disease, coagulation defects, connective-tissue disorders, Crohns disease (may be exacerbated), elderly (risk of serious side-effects and fatalities),heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, risk factors for cardiovascular events, ulcerative colitis (may be exacerbated), uncontrolled hypertension
Interactions
Anticoagulants, sulphonylureas, hydantoins.
Pregnancy
Avoid, especially during the third trimester

Side Effects
Angioedema, blood disorders, bronchospasm, colitis, Crohns disease, depression, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, fluid retention, GI bleeding and ulceration, GI disturbances, haematuria, headache, hearing disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, insomnia, nausea, nervousness, photosensitivity, raised blood pressure, rashes, renal failure (especially in patients with preexisting renal impairment),tinnitus, vertigo. Rare: Hepatic damage, interstitial fibrosis associated with NSAIDs, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, visual disturbances, exacerbation of symptoms in asthma, thrombocytopenia, aseptic meningitis
