Composition
Syp: Per 5 ml: Levodropropizine 30 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Symptomatic treatment of non-productive cough: Adult & Children & 12 yrs:10 ml (2 tsp) three times a day, (at least 6-hr interval between doses). Children above 6 yrs: 1 mg/kg three times a day, total daily dose of 3 mg/kg;max treatment duration 7 days.
Contraindications
Patients suffering from bronchorrhea or having an altered mucociliary function (Kartagener syndrome, primary ciliary dyskinesia), hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy and lactation
Precautions
Severe renal failure and in elderly
Interactions
Use of levodropropizine concomitantly with sedatives.
Side Effects
Nausea, pyrosis, dyspepsia, diarrhoea vomiting, fatigue, asthenia, somnolence, headache, vertigo and palpitations and skin allergy
