Composition
Tab 1 mg/2 mg: Prucalopride 1 mg/2 mg.
Indications & Dosage
Chronic constipation when other laxatives fail to provide an adequate response: Adults: 2 mg once daily, review treatment (if no response) after 4 wks. Elderly: Initially 1 mg once daily, may be increased to 2 mg once daily, review treatment (if no response) after 4 wks.
Contraindications
Intestinal obstruction/perforation, ulcerative colitis, toxic megacolon, Crohn’sdisease.
Precautions
History of arrhythmias, history of ischaemic heart disease, severe hepatic impairment (requires dose adjustment), severe renal impairment (reduced dose). Use effective contraception during treatment.

Side Effects
GI discomfort, GI disorders, decreased appetite, diarrhoea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, fever, malaise, nausea, vomiting. Rare: Anorectal haemorrhage, palpitations, tremor, increased urinary frequency.
