Composition
Granules for oral suspension: Per sachet: Racecadotril. 10 gm
Indications & Dosage
Acute diarrhoea: Adults: 3 sachets daily in 2-3 divided doses, mixed in a glass of water. In acute diarrhoea the initial dosage can be doubled. Children below 1 yr: 1 sachet daily; 1-2 yr:1-2 sachets daily; above 2 yr:2to 3 sachets daily in 2-3 divided dose.
Contraindications
Patients with hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or saccharase-isomaltase deficiency
Precautions
patients with hepatic or renal impairment
Side Effects
Aggravation of constipation, rash, erythema, oedema, pruritus
