Composition

Tab 500 mg/1000 mg: Ranolazine 500 mg/1000 mg.

Indications & Dosage

As adjunctive therapy in the treatment of stable angina inpatients inadequately controlled or intolerant of first-line anti-anginal therapies: Adult: Initially 375 mg twice daily for 2-4 weeks, then increased to 500 mg twice daily, then adjusted according to response to 750 mg twice daily; reduced if not tolerated to 375-500 mg twice daily Children: Not recommended.

Contraindications

Severe renal impairment.

Precautions

Body-weight less than 60 kg, elderly, moderate to severe congestive heart failure, QT interval prolongation, mild to moderate hepatic &renal impairment.

Interactions

CYP3A4 inhibitors & inducers, CYP2D6 inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, anti-arrhythmics, anticon-vulsants, macrolides, digoxin, drugs that prolong QT intervals.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Lactation

Not recommended.

Asthenia, constipation, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, anorexia, anxiety, chromaturia, confusion, cough, dehydration, drowsiness, dry mouth, dyspepsia, dysponea, dysuria, epistaxis, flatulence, haematuria, hallucination, hot flush, hypoaesthesia, hypotension, insomnia, joint swelling, lethargy, muscle cramp, pain in extremities, peripheral oedema, prolonged QT interval, pruritus, sweating, syncope, tinnitus, tremor, visual disturbance
