Composition
Nasal Spray: Per actuation: Beclomethasone dipropionate 50 mcg/100 mcg; metered-dose aerosol.
Indications & Dosage
Perennial rhinitis, Allergic rhinitis including hay fever, Vasomotor rhinitis: Adults: 2 applications in each nostril twice daily. Therapy should be continuous. Children above 6 yrs: same as adult.
Precautions
Avoid in pulmonary tuberculosis, avoid after nasal surgery (until healed), avoid in the presence of untreated nasal infections (treat infection first), patients transferred from systemic corticosteroids may experience exacerbation of some symptoms, caution in conditions of stress, trauma, surgery, infection, pregnancy and lactation. Monitor patients for signs of adrenal insufficiency, monitor growth in adolescents in prolong therapy
Side Effects
Aggression and anxiety (in children), headache, dryness, epistaxis, hypersensitivity reactions, nasal and throat irritation, nasal ulceration, sleep disturbances, smell disturbances, taste disturbances. Rare: Bronchospasm, anaphylaxis
